7: Get enough sleep

Humans, like all mammals, require sufficient sleep in order to function properly. This is especially true for people who are under a lot of pressure during the day.

If you have trouble sleeping or you tend to wake during the night then don't worry about this too much because while you are in your bed you are resting and IT STILL COUNTS. It is much better to lie awake relaxing than keeping yourself up late with an active mind, either talking or watching tv, for example.

I remember my late dad once announcing that he was sleeping much better since he stopped drinking caffeine-laced drinks (coffee, in his case, although others include tea, cola and the dreaded energy drinks... it's worth checking the label to find out what's in them) after mid-day.

The important point is that caffeine is a type of chemical called a stimulant and it keeps us awake so, if you have trouble getting to sleep, might it be worth looking at how much caffeine you're drinking?
