I love my work

Yes, you read that right!

The reason why I love my work is that I enjoy getting to know somebody and what makes them tick. I pride myself on finding the fastest and most painless way out of whatever troublesome situation a person is in and my job satisfaction comes from the joy I see in my client when they suddenly realise that they are free again.

But enough about me! The most important part of the counselling process is the ability to gain and maintain a professional relationship based on trust, safety & without judgments. I believe that this in turn allows for growth and development with any area of concern to you; no counsellor has all the answers or can give anybody an immediate solution - we work together to uncover the best way forward based on tried and tested therapy techniques.

Please give some careful thought in relation to exactly what you would like to get out of your counselling - and we will discuss this - so that we can work together to help you achieve it.

Over the last eight years I have provided counselling services for a local charity that offer services to anyone affected by rape and sexual violence. In addition, previously I have offered counselling services to a bereavement counselling service and a mental health counselling service.

I am also qualified to work with, and have experience of working with children. I facilitate workshops for counsellors in relation to working therapeutically with children through play and I have supported adults and children through the criminal justice system in relation to court proceeding due to many forms of sexual and domestic abuse/violence.

As an integrative  counsellor I use several distinct models of counselling and psychotherapy to best meet your needs.

I use one or a combination of the following types of therapy, depending on the person and their situation:
